Looking down at my physics test, I try to concentrate on how to do this incredibly complicated problem. I thought I had understood everything when I was studying, but judging by my confusion on pretty much every question, I may as well have been studying for a completely different subject. Considering that I couldn’t even think of where to start, I decided to pray. In the middle of a test, I’m sure I looked ridiculous with my hands folded and eyes closed, but I knew that asking God for help certainly wouldn’t hurt my chances of getting the right answer. Please, PLEASE help me figure out what I’m supposed to be doing. I listened hard, but sadly there was no voice telling me what I should do. Opening my eyes again, I looked back at my formula sheet to see if there was some magical new equation that could solve all of my problems. My eyes snagged on the first one I saw, and upon further examination, I realized it was the exact one I needed! I grinned and hurriedly wrote down my work while sending up a quick thank you. Obviously, this was an ideal situation. It is in miraculous moments like these that it is easiest to see God revealing Himself to me. Oftentimes, though, there isn’t a clear answer to every problem, and it may not always be easy to find God in your everyday life. Something that is hard to do isn’t impossible, though. The most common way that God reveals Himself to me is through the good works of others. When someone drops all of their books and papers as they’re going down the stairs and everybody stops to help them clean it all up, I consider it a God-sighting. I also see God when a person decides to hold the door for everyone behind them. When people are kind to each other, God is present. Music is another way to find God. Singing praise and worship music during adoration is a powerful experience, and I know God is with us whenever we lift our voices to Him. You can find Him in nature and in the joy of others and in so many other places if you just pay attention and look for Him. Every day before you go to sleep, think about how you have seen God. You will soon find that He really is everywhere if you just look.
